J. Parker Wood

Born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, J. Parker Wood is gradually emerging as one of the most promising new talents in film and television. He began his acting journey on local stages such as Second Story Theater in Warren Rhode Island, before moving on to New York City and Los Angeles where his career in independent film and guest appearances

on television began to take off.

 

Wood has appeared in several historical dramas such as the Wild West Chronicles, bringing to life the haunted silver miner James Howard as he battles his demons of the past, and the Award winning INSP series ELKHORN where he gives a compelling performance as Theodore Roosevelt’s father teaching the future president the lessons he would later use to be come successful. Through these opportunities, Wood's work has been praised for its

authenticity, emotional depth, and strong screen presence.

 

He continues to expand his range with leading roles in the upcoming independent films such as Stanley Schofield's

"To God’s Ear", Matthew Agnelli's "Cunning Folk", Dan Jaffe's "Harbor" and Lenny Luo's "Heaven Rewards the Diligent". All of which showcase his ability to bring complex, grounded characters to life.

 

Proud of his Rhode Island roots, Wood often credits his upbringing and small creative community for instilling a strong work ethic and authentic voice—qualities that continue to set him apart in a competitive industry.
